There are a variety of reasons people are refusing to be vaccinated against covid: personal, such as fear of needles; uncertainty about the science; opposition to government programs; or a refusal to accept the reality of the illness itself. Which do you think is the most significant?
We all know that it is a contagious virus that has reacted very similar to the flu virus while being more dangerous and lethal. I had a hard time with all the contradictory advice given by government agencies. For example: If herd immunity and vaccination are good for preventing infection or re-infection, why don't we protect the at risk folks and let healthy folks get the antibodies? Most of our government officials speak out of both ends which just hurts the cause.

The Mayo Clinic had a similar explanation- https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/coronavirus-vs-flu/art-20490339.
In a nutshell, the two diseases are caused by different viruses but have similar symptoms,
